We have engaged in a partnership with an old friend in Europe and are currently selecting fine horses worldwide for sale.  At the same time, we are preparing a new "Horse for Sale" page. Please visit our Web site often to see how Ashanti Farm is growing day by day.

Delacroix

Delacroix, Jennifer has fully recovered. We are very happy for her. Jennifer decided to work for a Veterinarian for a while. The Ashanti Team wishes her all the best for her future. Jen, you are always welcome at AFI.

Delacroix has found a new best friend and rider in Barbara, Bruno's wife.

We have not yet decided to show Delacroix in the upcoming season. We are currently deciding if we should use Delacroix as a school horse instead. We will decide later this year when and if we will return to the show grounds with him in 2004.

Prima Ballerina

Gabriele now rides Prima Ballerina . We also use Prima Ballerina as a school horse. She is coming along very nicely and our clients are very impressed with her. She has become a terrific Dressage horse and we plan to show her in the 2004 show season in higher levels.

 

Exupery

Exupery, ridden by Caroline Kottas, is getting better and better with each and every competition this season. March was a busy month. The pair competed in GP & GPS from March 6 to 7, 2004 in the CDN-A, which was held in the city Wiener Neustadt, Austria. In their 3 rd GP ever, they placed 6 th with a score of 61.71%. Exupery got distracted and the performance was way below his capabilities. However, in the GPS the following day, the pair made sure to let everyone know that they are Top Performers, and with a score of 65.64%, they placed 1 st.

At the CDN-A, which was held in Kottingbrunn, Austria on March 20 to 21, 2004, the pair, placed 1 st in GP with 67.99% and 1 st in GPS with 65.73%.

The Wintercup Finals where held from March 26 to 28, 2004. The pair didn’t take any chances and won the PG and the GP Freestyle and thus also won the Cup. The scores will be posted in the April update.

Arthur’s recent comment to me was “When I work with him and Caroline, it seems to me that Exupery has unlimited potential. With every competition, Exupery is getting better and develops more routine in his movements.”

So far, we are well on schedule to achieve our highly placed goal for 2004.

Congratulations to Caroline, Exupery and of course to Arthur who continues to train this duo in such a successful manner! All of us at Ashanti Farm are very proud to have Arthur and Caroline on our team.

Carreras

Carreras, ridden by our Certified In-House Trainer Bruno Greber is now in full training for the upcoming 2004 US Show Season. Carreras & Bruno will compete in GP, GPS and GP Freestyle. We are very proud to have Bruno on our Team.

Congratulations also to Arthur Kottas, who trains our horses and riders so excellently.

Derringer

Derringer is being trained and going very well. We have decided to present Derringer in 2004 as our Top School Horse at AFI for clients to ride (up to Grand Prix). Derringer is also available for breeding in 2004.

Look for Derringer in the 2003 Hanoverian Stallion Book. News about Derringer will be updated on this web site frequently. Fresh Semen will be available in the 2004-breeding season. The 2004 breeding contract for Derringer will be available as of January 1, 2004.

Schindelhof

"Schindelhof", Evelyn Haim/Swarovski's breeding farm in Austria (photo to right) was Riviera's, Alfa Romea's and Prima Ballerina's home. Evelyn breeds the finest Austrian Warmblood Horses for Dressage and Jumping. Schindelhof is also the home of the young Stallion "Weinkoenig". Weinkoenig is a son of "Weltmeier", the famous Dressage Stallion. Our filly, Windsong, is a daughter to Weinkoenig.

News

The 2004 Breeding contract for Derringer, Carreras & Exupery is now online!

At the Third Global Dressage Forum, held at the Academy in Hooge Mierde, The Netherlands, in October 2003, Arthur Kottas-Heldenberg was one of the guest speakers. He brought Exupery and Caroline to this event, where Arthur demonstrated several training exercises including stop and go piaffe, in which horses piaffe forward, then perform a few steps on the spot, and forward again. And so on. He used Exupery as demonstration horse. In the report Arthur was praised for the gentle, professional and very horse friendly demonstration.

You can find a corresponding article and picture of Arthur and Exupery in the Horse International Magazine, Volume Nr. 9-2003.

Together with our local Veterinarian, we are currently testing a new line of Homeopathic remedies, which were created in a seven-year research by our Austrian Friend, who is a very well respected Veterinarian with 20 years of experience. Among his clients in Europe are world famous dressage, jumper, hunter and event riders. We should complete our testing in March of 2003. We will share more information with you as it becomes available.

Upcoming Events

The August 2003 clinic was again a great success. We had 12 riders, eager to learn, here at AFI. One rider came from as far as Oklahoma City, two came from New York/New Jersey, three came from Maryland, and six riders came from Virginia.

Auditors were just as fantastic. We had well over 350 auditors over the three-day period, whereas Saturday was completely sold out. Auditors came from as far as New Mexico.

We received lots of good reviews. Arthur was, as always, excellent in his teaching and lecturing. We are very happy that we were able to satisfy our customers and clients.

We would like to thank all of our clients, customers and friends for their support. We are looking forward to the 2004 season and of course we will hold clinics at AFI.

This year we hired new caterers. Mark Reaves from "Chompin at the Bit" and his crew cooked fantastic and the prices were very reasonable. Everybody had just good experience with Mark and Crew. We would like to say "THANK YOU" to Mark and crew for a job well done. We will certainly hire you next year again.
