Delacroix Delacroix has received his well deserved retirement last month. Gabriele is still taking him on trail rides several times per week. Other than that, he is enjoying his stall in the new Barn Building and his extra large paddock.  Delacroix is still in such good  spirit despite his age of 23 years and he misses the lime light.
Prima Ballerina Prima Ballerina has been sold. Her new owner, Veronica is thrilled. Prima Ballerina will remain at AFI for training and will show with her new owner/rider this season.
Exupery Exupery and Caroline are preparing for the 2008 GP season in Europe. Once the 2006 show season ended, we decided to provide Exupery with a well deserved break, which allowed us to make some careful changes to his shoeing. Since June 2007 Exupery is back in work and his fitness is being build up again slowly. Please find below the latest results from August 2006, as follows: Exupery and Caroline competed at the WEG Aachen on 08/20/06. In GP the pair placed 66th with a score of 60.042%. Unfortunately Exupery got very frightened on the way from the warm-up area to the Stadium. He didn't want to enter the stadium and considering the circumstances, Caroline performed a miracle to finish the test and the score was better than expected. We were all very sad that at such a special moment, Exupery was not at his best. We had high hopes to qualify for the GPS at least. Exupery and Caroline competed in the DCI 3*** in Piper, Austria from 09/08 to 09/10/06. In the GP the pair placed 4th with a score of 69.292% and in the GPS they placed 2nd with a score of 70.480%. This was the 1st time that the pair scored over 70% in a CDI 3***. Congratulations to Caroline, Exupery and of course to Arthur who continues to train this duo in such a successful manner! All of us at Ashanti Farm are very proud to have Arthur and Caroline on our team. Carreras Carreras, ridden by our Certified In-House Trainer Bruno Greber have competed at the Raleigh CDI 3* from the 2nd to 4th of June 2006. In GP they placed 11th with a score of 60.750% In GPS they placed 2nd with a score of 62.920. Carreras and Bruno have also competed at the VADA/NOVA Summer Dressage show in Leesburg, VA from the 23rd to 25thth of June 2006. In GP on Saturday they placed 1st with a score of 67.083% Bruno decided not to compete in the GPS on Sunday. We are very proud to have Bruno on our Team. Amidala Amidala, our now 8 year old Hanoverian Mare out of A Jungle Prince (Sire) and our States Premium Mare Waleksa M (Dam - out of World Cup 1) has started her 2007 competing season in late April and May in VA. Amidala, in training with our Certified Trainer, Bruno Greber, since three+ years now, is showing ever growing Potential. Amidala and Bruno have competed 9 times in 2007 and have won at 8 competitions at 4th Level with very respectable margins. At the CDCTA Dressage @ Morven Park in May 2007, Amidala scored 68.140% in Test 4-1. At the SWVADA Spring Competition in May 2007, Amidala scored 71.163% in Test 4-1. At the VADA/NOVA, Inc. Summer Dressage Competition in June 2007, Amidala scored 69.767% and 67.907% in Test 4-1. At the Dressage at Lexington in June 2007, Amidala scored 77.273% and 65.455% in Test 4-2. At the VADA/NOVA Autumn I Competition in September 2007, Amidala scored 64.146% in Test 4-3; 66.585% in Test 4-3 and 73.171 in Test 4-3. With Pride and Honor we are happy to announce that Amidala has placed 4th in Second Level in the 2007 USDF Dressage Horse of the Year Awards in 4th Level and 1st in the All Breed Awards with the American Hanoverian Society at 4th Level Open. Congratulations to Amidala and Bruno, who does a terrific job in training Amidala to become a “Dressage Star” of the future.
Derringer Derringer is enjoying his Retirement very much. Being the reason of the existence of Ashanti Farm Inc, he has received a generous Stall (12x24) and his own large paddock and of course lots of attention, as always. He will still be used for breeding, since he has produced such wonderful offspring over the past decade. Thus Derringer is available for breeding in 2006 again. Look for Derringer on our homepage. News about Derringer is updated on this web site frequently. Fresh and Frozen Semen is available in the 2006-breeding season. The 2008 breeding contract for Derringer.

Schindelhof

"Schindelhof", Evelyn Haim/Swarovski's breeding farm in Austria (photo to right) was Riviera's, Alfa Romea's and Prima Ballerina's home. Evelyn breeds the finest Austrian Warmblood Horses for Dressage and Jumping. Schindelhof is also the home of the young Stallion "Weinkoenig". Weinkoenig is a son of "Weltmeier", the famous Dressage Stallion. Our filly, Windsong, is a daughter to Weinkoenig.

The 2008 Breeding contracts for Derringer, Carreras & Exupery are now available!

We are very happy to announce that Southern States Cooperative Inc. has agreed to sponsor Ashanti Farm and in particular our Hanoverian Mare AMIDALA. We would like to thank Southern States Cooperative Inc. and the SSC Management for this Sponsorship and are looking forward to a professional and successful Business Relationship for 2008 and beyond.

Upcoming Events

“THE JULY 2008 CLINIC WITH ARTHUR KOTTAS ”

We have completed our arrangements with Arthur Kottas-Heldenberg, former 1st Chief Rider of the Spanish Riding School in Vienna, Austria, and a very happy to announce that we are planning to hold a three day clinic with Arthur from July 18 to July 20, 2008. Please find below the details for the upcoming clinic for your convenience. We will send detailed information to all our clients and customers and will also advertise the clinic in local and national horse magazines.

The Details for the July 2008 clinic are as follows:

We are planning to hold a 3-day clinic for a limited number of participants & auditors from July 18 to July 20, 2008.

The clinic is scheduled to start each day at 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM and from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

Riding in the clinic is $185 for one day, $370 for 2 days and $530 for 3 days

Auditing is $65/day (Groups of three or more Auditors receive 10% off)

Stalls for boarding are arranged at Ashanti Farm at $39/day excluding hay and grain.

In addition, Mr. Kottas will hold a Lecture Demo in our new covered outdoor arena with demonstrations ridden by AFI riders and horses, on July 19, 2008 from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM. The price for this event is $55 per person.

Clinic Entry Forms and Release Forms for Riders and Auditors are provided upon request via-email and/or facsimile and must be returned to AFI with payment on or before June 15, 2008.

If you are interested in participating in the July 2008 clinic, please notify us via e-mail at info@ashantifarm.com no later than May 15, 2008, to receive your Entry Forms.

Upon Riders & Auditors request, we offer to arrange a dinner with Mr. Kottas on Saturday, July 19, 2008 at Fabio’s Pizzeria Restaurant in Gordonsville. People pay for themselves.
